1. English
The English course is offered at 3 levels: Basic, Intermediate and advance. The course duration for each level is 3 months.
1.1 Basic English
- The course aims at building proficiency in all the four language skills – reading, writing, speaking and listening. The Centre for Knowledge at Real Solutions (CKRS) provides intensive practice in all the skills with the help of graded exercises and interesting reading and listening texts. The series also emphasizes grammar, since it is the basic tool for developing accuracy.
At basic level, the learner would be able to;
- Enhance vocabulary and conversational skills.
- Develop understanding of grammar terms and four key skills i.e. listening, speaking, writing and reading.
- Improve the use of grammar, parts of speech, tenses and punctuation.
- Skilful use of dictionary to grasp the meanings of words
1.2 Intermediate English
At intermediate level, the learner would be able to;
- Compose sentences effectively into paragraphs and paragraphs into essays.
- Consolidate and extend their command of English grammar and vocabulary.
- Critically read and analyze a text.
- Engage in topic relevant discussions with peers drawing on a wide range of information sources and experiences.
- Learn essay and story writing.
- Demonstrate advanced communication skills (listening, speaking, reading & writing).
- Develop critical thinking through listening documentaries
- Give excellent formal and informal presentations.
- Exhibit research skills.
- Develop formal report writing.
- Demonstrate proficiency in English grammar.
1.3 Advance English
At advance level, the learner would be able to;
- Comprehend and respond effectively and analytically to what they receive through audio-visual media.
- Persuade and argue on complicated and critical societal as well as professional issues.
- Read with understanding complicated text and analyze it critically and reach a consensus.
- Write convincingly lengthy documents to well-versed audience.
2. French
The French course is offered at 3 levels: Basic, Intermediate and advance. The course duration for each level is 3 months.
2.1 Basic French
At basic level, the learner would be able to;
- Understand and use daily expressions in order to satisfy concrete needs, introduce yourself, introduce someone, ask and answer simple questions.
- Understand and communicate while exchanging simple information regarding familiar and daily topics (personal and familial information, shopping, close environment, work).
2.2 Intermediate French
At intermediate level, the learner would be able to;
- Understand and communicate on essential points regarding familiar things in work, hobbies; tell events, experiences, justify your ideas; handle almost every situation in a French speaking environment.
- Understand and communicate easily during exchanges regarding various topics; give your opinion.
2.3 Advance French
At advance level, the learner would be able to;
- Understand a wide range of texts, express yourself spontaneously and fluently in a clear and structured way, use the language efficiently in your social, professional or academic life.
- Understand almost everything you read or hear, express yourself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely on complex topics.
3. Arabic
The Arabic course is offered at 3 levels: Basic, Intermediate and advance. The course duration for each level is 3 months.
The course covers grammar, reading and writing practice as well as an insight into the culture of the region. Students will learn the basics of the language and be able to build up enough knowledge to read and write Arabic.
Moreover, this course introduces the fundamental elements of the modern standard Arabic language within the cultural context of Arabic-speaking people. Emphasis is placed on the development of basic listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
3.1 Basic Arabic
At basic level, the learner would be able to;
- Learn, understand and speak classic Arabic at basic level.
- Read and understand Arabic text.
- Basic Arabic writing.
3.2 Intermediate Arabic
At intermediate level, the learner would be able to;
- Learn, understand and speak classic Arabic at intermediate level.
- Read and understand Arabic text.
- Basic Arabic writing.
3.3 Advance Arabic
At advance level, the learner would be able to;
- Learn, understand and speak classic Arabic at advance level.
- Read and understand Arabic text.
- Basic Arabic writing.
